Welcome to the Tenth and Jackson church of Christ, and thank you for
visiting our website.
We are an undenominational assembly of Christians striving to follow the
New Testament pattern in worship (John 4:23-24) and in daily living
(Philippians 1:27). Our goal is to "Glorify God in the church through
Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 3:21). While we are all individuals with
different talents and characteristics, we strive to keep our focus
solely on God and His Book, thus "keeping the unity of the Spirit in the
bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:3). This can only be achieved by "denying
ourselves and taking up our cross daily" (Luke 9:23); loving God first
with all our heart, soul, and mind" (Matthew 22:37); and "seeking His
Kingdom, and His righteousness first" (Matthew 6:33).
It is our conviction that every Book, chapter and verse of the Bible has been given to us by "inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, and thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2Timothy 3:16-17).
Since only "the Truth will set you free" (John 8:32), and "Thy Word is Truth" (John 17:17), then our "souls are purified (by the Blood of Christ), when we obey the Truth (1Peter 1:22). Even Jesus had to be obedient to the Heavenly Father (Hebrews 5:9; Philippians 2:8). We highly reverence the words in God's Book, the Bible.
We encourage all to come study the Bible and worship with us. You will find a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere. Our pattern of worship is according to the pattern given in the New Testament. We have some of the most beautiful music possible, singing praise to God using only those instruments He has given us to praise Him with: our voices and hearts (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). We understand that man's hands cannot create, or improve on these instruments our Heavenly Father has given us to worship Him (Acts 17:25).
The Lord's church is the "family of God" (1Timothy 3:15), and only the church is said to be "according to the eternal purpose" of God (Ephesians 3:10-11). We invite you to come and get to know Him better by studying His Word. Truly, His Word is "living and powerful" (Hebrews 4:12). If you want to add power, meaning, and purpose to your life, come and "learn of Him" (Matthew 11:29)
